Catching Up

Holy Moly!! I can't believe that it has been over a week since my last post.  It seems that life has been extremely hectic for us lately and only going to get worse!!!

What we have been up to!

We did First Friday on the Bentonville square

It was Wal-Marts Toyland!  We got to see lots of characters, try out new toys, and actually take some home!  We had lots of fun, but it was insanely busy!  I think we were all a little overwhelmed by the amount of people there.

We are redoing a coffee table...more on that to come, but here are some work in progress pictures.

The pictures are rough, but they are from my phone.  Miss K had to get in on the action...she is quite the painter.

Mostly we have just been trying to spend time as a family and enjoy what is left of the nice weather!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today I'm participating in Show Us your Life: Favorite desserts.  You can find out more info here.

One of my most favorite things to make is pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  I absolutely love everything pumpkin and chocolate, so these are perfect for me!

A friend of mine made this cute cookie book for me when we did a cookie exchange and I made the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

I have my mixer and ingredients all ready to go!  My Kitchen Aid mixer is my dream mixer and was a very special present, but that is a story for a different day!  On to cookie making!

Start by mixing your sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla together until combined.

Next add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and mix until combined.

Next add your chocolate chips and mix.
You should end up with something like this.
Drop by spoonfuls on to a greased baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until edges are set.

These are so beautiful!  Yummy!!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 15oz cans of pumpkin puree
10 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 350.  Beat sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla together until combined.  Add in flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pumpkin mixing until combined.  Fold in chocolate chips.  Drop by spoonfuls on to greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until edges are set.  Note:  these cookies don't spread out they rise like cake!

Hope ya'll enjoy as much as we do!

We need a Win!

In light of last night's KC Chiefs game and this still being Halloween week this is our feeling!

Roots....still growing!

I'm linking up for Five Minute Friday...wanna learn more?  Check this out!

Roots....hmmm?  I feel as though I finally put down my roots.  They are sinking further and further in to this great little family of mine and I seem to have finally found my way.  I don't really think until this very moment I thought much about it, but I have finally been planted and am starting to grow.  I'm trying to be the best mom and give my Kadence the best foundation I can and then being a wife...oh how I have so much to learn.  It's been ten years since I said I do, but I still find myself learning something new everyday.

My Roots are planted and they are growing.  I'm getting stronger and more content everyday.  I can't imagine being anywhere else right now or being with anyone else.  I just need to be sure to take care of my roots so the continue to spread wide and touch as many lives as possible!
