Catching Up

Holy Moly!! I can't believe that it has been over a week since my last post.  It seems that life has been extremely hectic for us lately and only going to get worse!!!

What we have been up to!

We did First Friday on the Bentonville square

It was Wal-Marts Toyland!  We got to see lots of characters, try out new toys, and actually take some home!  We had lots of fun, but it was insanely busy!  I think we were all a little overwhelmed by the amount of people there.

We are redoing a coffee table...more on that to come, but here are some work in progress pictures.

The pictures are rough, but they are from my phone.  Miss K had to get in on the action...she is quite the painter.

Mostly we have just been trying to spend time as a family and enjoy what is left of the nice weather!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today I'm participating in Show Us your Life: Favorite desserts.  You can find out more info here.

One of my most favorite things to make is pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  I absolutely love everything pumpkin and chocolate, so these are perfect for me!

A friend of mine made this cute cookie book for me when we did a cookie exchange and I made the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

I have my mixer and ingredients all ready to go!  My Kitchen Aid mixer is my dream mixer and was a very special present, but that is a story for a different day!  On to cookie making!

Start by mixing your sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla together until combined.

Next add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and mix until combined.

Next add your chocolate chips and mix.
You should end up with something like this.
Drop by spoonfuls on to a greased baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until edges are set.

These are so beautiful!  Yummy!!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 15oz cans of pumpkin puree
10 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 350.  Beat sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla together until combined.  Add in flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pumpkin mixing until combined.  Fold in chocolate chips.  Drop by spoonfuls on to greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until edges are set.  Note:  these cookies don't spread out they rise like cake!

Hope ya'll enjoy as much as we do!

We need a Win!

In light of last night's KC Chiefs game and this still being Halloween week this is our feeling!

Roots....still growing!

I'm linking up for Five Minute Friday...wanna learn more?  Check this out!

Roots....hmmm?  I feel as though I finally put down my roots.  They are sinking further and further in to this great little family of mine and I seem to have finally found my way.  I don't really think until this very moment I thought much about it, but I have finally been planted and am starting to grow.  I'm trying to be the best mom and give my Kadence the best foundation I can and then being a wife...oh how I have so much to learn.  It's been ten years since I said I do, but I still find myself learning something new everyday.

My Roots are planted and they are growing.  I'm getting stronger and more content everyday.  I can't imagine being anywhere else right now or being with anyone else.  I just need to be sure to take care of my roots so the continue to spread wide and touch as many lives as possible!

When is Enough Really Enough?

When is enough enough?  When can you say you did everything you could, but it truly wasn't enough?  My heart hurts for those that I can't quite understand, for the relationships that I can't mend, and for the ones that are far to broken to ever fix so you just try to use some superglue to hold it together.

To say the last year of my life has been a never ending roller coaster is an understatement!  For the past year I've been a sick girl and every time I thought I had reached a valley on this coaster there was another hill to climb.  In August of this year I was clicking to the very highest peak with both my sanity and my body.  I saw what was over that hill and really thought the ride was over.  However, the ride is easier, but certainly not over.  While on this wild ride I had plenty of time to think....think of all the wrongs I had done or had been done to me.  Think of all the things that were broken that I want to fix so badly, but then I thought what if it is not for me to fix.  What if enough was enough?  Maybe I needed to focus on me and my little family and not give so much of myself to things that don't deserve it.

Eric says I give to much of myself to people or situations that are not worthy.  I say I never see anything as a lost cause.  However, I think sometimes that gets me into trouble and I should just let some things pass.  I'm working on letting go, but my heart hurts....everyday.  I sit in times of joy and there is a little part of my heart that hurts for the broken!

To those of you that I have wronged I am sorry!  For the broken things that can't seem to be fixed right now...I'm sorry!  My heart hurts a little for you everyday and loves you everyday!

EeeeK! It's a Monday!

The weekend flew by way to fast!  I'm not ready for Monday!  Mondays are such a chaotic day for me filled with stress and panic!  Nothing seems to go right...it's like everything forgot how to function over the weekend!  I'm included in this bunch!

Speaking of the weekend...nice and pleasant sums it up!  We hung out at home and had no plans in particular.  Just the way I like it.  Saturday we fixed up the auction desk that we bought a couple weeks ago and moved it into place...Love it!  I should have taken a picture....picture to come!

Sunday was grocery shopping and football!  We love football in our house (MIZZOU and KC CHIEFS).  Neither of our teams are doing anything spectacular this season, but true fans hold out hope.  I did a little cleaning, but mostly we tried to relax.

My little reader!  She is very into Junie B Jones books right now or chapter books (as she calls them)!

We did nothing to exciting, but it was beautiful fall weather so we just tried to enjoy it.  I did try to make the Pioneer Woman's sparkle cake...recipe here.  I think I failed, but we will see after dinner tonight when we have it for dessert!

Looking forward throughout the week and it looks busy!  I don't know how moms with multiples feel, but my one makes me feel very busy!

Tonight-I've got to get my Halloween costume together...HELP, Help, Help!  80's theme
Tuesday-I have a feeling I'll still be working on my costume and I have tons of laundry to put away
Wednesday- HALLOWEEN- Bible walk and trick or treating
Thursday- Parent teacher conference...I'm sure that laundry will still be there
Friday-Oh who knows

I know this doesn't probably sound like much, but add in my work schedule and it feels like a ton!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend like I did!!

Exclamation Points!!!!!

It seems that I have a slight obsession with exclamation points.  I noticed this in emails, texts, facebook posts....you name it, I'm excited about it.  I think my overuse of them makes it seem as if I'm shouting everything.  I'm very sorry if you have noticed this or are offended by it!  I'm a sucker for a good ol' exclamation point!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!!!

Halloween...our love hate relationship!

My love of the Fall season is ridiculous.  It should probably be outlawed.  I was born in the fall and it just fits my personality so well. I love the colors, smells, fall activities, and I'm even ok with Halloween to an extent.  Ohh Halloween we have a love hate relationship.  I love little kids in costume.  However, adults in costume...no thank you!  Halloween stores...no thank you!  Scary movies...no thank you!  Haunted houses....no thank you!  The Wal-Mart Halloween aisle....no thank you!  Did I mention that I hate scary things....cause I do!!!

These are things from Halloween that I can't get enough of!  My K and my nephew Z when he was a froggy for Halloween!
Today I got another sweet gift that I love and it is Halloween themed.  Today was a great day for a sweet surprise since my mood was a little on the sour side.  It's funny how that works...sometimes your friends pick you up even when they didn't know you were down!
This picture doesn't do this Halloween tree justice...It is just fabulous!  Thanks so much to my friend H for this sweet sweet surprise!
I can't wait to post pictures of K as Raggedy Ann this year!  I will be doing an 80's theme with my office!  Wish me luck!

Get Out and Vote!!!

The Word of The Day: EXHAUSTED!!!

We had quite the weekend!  Busy from beginning to end!    This time of the year in NWA is the best.  Every year at this time, for about 4 days it is a crafters heaven.  Even if you don't craft yourself, but you enjoy finding unique things or seeing others creations...this is the place to be.  Saturday it was just K and I.  The Captain (aka Eric, aka the husband, aka K's dad) had to work for most of the morning.  Don't ask why I call him captain...I just do! Haha!  It started sometime ago and just stuck.  Anyways, back to the story!

We started Saturday morning at the craft fairs.  We had one clear objective for the craft fairs, bows and candles!  K needed new bows since most of hers were old and small.  I on the other hand needed candles. There is a specific candle booth that I love and visit year after year.  This year however, I was very disappointed to come upon said candle booth and find very slim pickins!  These candles really are the best and last forever, but this year there were very few scents to pick from, so I just settled for nothing.  You'll be glad to know we did find great bows, so all was not lost! haha!

We moved on to the Rhea Lana's sale later that morning.  My previous blog was about all the things I put into the sale, but let me tell you the shopping is awesome.  I volunteered to bring a meal, so that I could shop early.  I got to go to the pre-sale for  workers and let me tell you I found tons and tons of stuff.  K was with me, so I think I actually spent more than I normally would, but hey you can't beat the deals.  I'll share more on all my finds later!

K and I moved from our morning together to spending time with the Captain.  We had lunch and then did more fishing...we caught nothing, but had good family time.  Then came rest,  I was so so tired, but Sunday was right around the corner.

Sunday started early at one of our favorite breakfast spots and then we did a little shopping.  I was already tired by the end of shopping, but we had plans to go to the pumpkin patch.  I'm sure glad we did.  It was a fabulous time and the weather was beautiful!  Here are a few pictures from our time!

I can't believe she wasn't totally wiped out from the pumpkin patch, but these last two are from when we got home and decided to clean up the leaves that were everywhere!

So needless to say we all crashed very early last night, but had a very fabulous weekend!  Hope you all did too!  What kind of fun things did you do?
